Cordless: CMS Ads Integration

What integrations does the CMS have and how do they work? 

Overview: Cordless Ads is a third party integration for the CMS Website Product

  • The customer chooses which ads they want “live” on their website from a set of designs.

  • Each individual ad is able to be tuned “on” and “off” by writing a Jira card for dev.

    • We are planning to have a setting for this in the editor where the customer can manage these themselves with a on/off toggle.

  • If a customer requests a new ad placement, or edits to be made to existing ads, that request must go through product.

  • Note on project management: We have an agreement with Cordless Ads around revenue. Because of this, they must include us in all communications with the customer, and in turn we do our very best to do the same. Make your best effort to always cc Cordless ads on any customer communication around ads.

    • Exception: Cordless does not need to be involved in change orders what so ever, that’s up to us to determine. Those conversations around our hourly estimates, etc. can be done separately.

Technical Details:

  • Each ad has it’s own unique script, each unique script is unique to that customer.

    • These are provided by Cordless via email.

    • They can be found attached to the related dev card.

  • The “tabs” are configured by cordless.

    • The customer can choose which tabs they want to have “on”.

  • Can I control the “topics” or “kinds” of ads shown on the site?

    • Cordless has some control over the categories of ads shown.

  • How do I turn off an ad?

    • Create a dev card specific to which ad you want disabled.

  • How long does it take to get the ad codes from Cordless?

    • This timing varies quite a bit, the sooner you can get the customer to confirm the list of ads they want, the sooner they can configure them. Don’t forget we need a change order signed!

  • How does the ad revenue work?

    • TRIBUS Group has an agreement with Cordless ads around ad revenue. Please see sales if you need specifics.
